Ava's Story
At 22 years old, I am nearing the completion of my college degree—an incredible blessing that I didn’t always think was within reach. What many don’t know, however, is that there were moments when I almost gave up. In both my sophomore and junior years, I faced immense challenges that nearly led me to drop out. But I stayed in because I didn’t want to disappoint my parents, and deep down, I knew I had the grit to keep pushing forward.
My journey wasn’t easy. During my sophomore year, I sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that affected my memory for two whole years. It was a devastating setback, but through it, I learned to lean completely on the Lord for guidance. This period of suffering opened my eyes to miracles I never could have imagined, and I came to understand that I wasn’t walking this path alone.
In my junior year, I faced yet another trial. An illness that was believed to be caused by mold forced me out of my rental home, and I began to househop for a month not knowing where I would be staying the next night before finding refuge in an RV for the rest of the semester. But rather than being defeated, I turned to God for healing. Through fasting, organic foods, and supplements, I began to heal, and I grew in faith like never before.
These struggles were not in vain—they shaped my purpose. When I moved to Dallas for an internship, knowing no one and stepping into the unknown, I experienced more miracles, including healing from food sensitivities such as gluten and dairy. These experiences confirmed the truth that God had a bigger plan for me, one that extended beyond my personal healing.
Through the lessons I’ve learned in the face of adversity, I believe with all my heart that Feed The 5 Thousand is my calling. This ministry is inspired by the biblical story where Jesus fed five thousand people with only two fish and five loaves of bread. Just as God worked miracles in my life during times of great suffering, I believe He will work through this ministry to feed millions and inspire countless others.
The mission of Feed The 5 Thousand is to transform the American food system, offering high-quality, healing foods and products that restore health and well-being. I see this as part of God’s greater plan to heal not only individuals but communities across the United States—and eventually the world. Each product we create is an opportunity for individuals to feel loved, seen, and cared for, just as I felt during my own healing journey.
I believe that the struggles I faced were a preparation for the greater mission ahead—to feed the hungry, inspire the weary, and restore the broken. Just as God used my pain to build my faith, I trust that He will use this ministry to build a healthier, more compassionate world. Together, we can restore the American food system and, in turn, inspire millions to heal and thrive with His guidance.
